About Corona del Mar State Beach

A stretch of sand along the Newport Beach coastline gives this 30-acre park its identity, though locals commonly call it Big Corona to separate it from the smaller neighboring beach known as Little Corona. Rather than being run by the state park system directly, the beach is managed by the city of Newport Beach itself. It has held this protected status within California's park system since 1947.
