About San Clemente State Beach

Halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego along I-5 near Basilone Road, this stretch of coast was set aside as public shoreline for the city of San Clemente. It protects a section of beach at the southern edge of the city, giving access to the Pacific at a point travelers pass on the drive between the two larger cities. The park consists of the beach itself, reached from the Basilone Road exit.
