About Hendy Woods State Park

Old-growth coast redwoods stand protected within this stretch of the Anderson Valley, land once owned by Joshua Hendy, who required that it never be logged. The trees survived intact through several subsequent owners before the property entered the California State Park system. Camping facilities here sit near the valley's wineries, giving visitors a base among the redwoods rather than deep backcountry isolation.
