About Mendocino Headlands State Park
Undeveloped bluffs and islets around the town of Mendocino were set aside to keep the coastline here free of development, forming the core of this 347-acre park. Within its boundaries are two beaches along the seaside cliffs, plus a separate Big River Unit that runs eight miles along both banks of the Big River. The land includes small offshore islets as well as open headlands facing the water.
