About Mendocino Woodlands State Park
Roughly 700 acres of land along the Little North Fork of the Big River make up this group camping facility, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps as a Recreational Demonstration Area. Jackson Demonstration State Forest, spanning 50,000 acres, surrounds it on three sides, while Big River State Park lies along its southern edge. The site was named a National Historic Landmark on September 25, 1997.
