About Manchester State Park

Sand dunes and flat grasslands lead to five miles of gentle, sandy shoreline along the Pacific, part of roughly 18,000 feet of protected coast on State Route 1 north of Point Arena. Two streams, Brush Creek and Alder Creek, draw steelhead and salmon anglers, and the curve of the coastline gathers driftwood into a natural catch basin along the beach. The site covers 5,272 acres and became a California state park in 1955, named for the nearby town of Manchester.
