About Mandalay State Beach
Sand dunes and wetlands make up the shoreline here, preserved as an undeveloped stretch that once stood along the Oxnard Plain's 16.5-mile coast. The California Department of Parks and Recreation manages the site within the city of Oxnard. Rather than developed beachfront, visitors find a protected coastal landscape representative of what much of the area's shore looked like before development.
