About Oxnard State Beach
A stretch of sand along the edge of the Oxnard Plain makes up this coastal recreational area, operated by the city of Oxnard. It was formerly called Oxnard Beach Park before being renamed in 2023 using the Chumashan word for dolphin. The setting is flat coastal plain rather than cliffs or dunes, giving the shoreline here a distinct, open character.
