A former rancho spread across 700 acres holds the remains of buildings and grounds once tied to Rancho Olómpali. The land was the scene of the Battle of Olómpali, fought during the Bear Flag Revolt, giving the site a direct connection to that conflict. Purchase of the rancho by the state government led to its conversion into a public park, preserving the grounds and their history for visitors to walk through.
