About China Camp State Park

A former Chinese American shrimp-fishing village and its surrounding salt marsh give this park its name and grounds, sitting on the shore of San Pablo Bay. The 1,514-acre property includes a 75-acre historic district, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 for its archaeological, architectural, commercial and social significance, along with a prehistoric shell midden. Trails for hiking and mountain biking wind through the open space, and the park forms part of the San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve along with Rush Ranch Open Space Preserve.
