A stone summit pavilion sits on land once part of Dr. Frederick Shepard Dennis's private estate, now open for hiking and picnicking with wide views over the surrounding hills. The property passed from private ownership into public use, and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection now oversees the grounds. Trails lead up to the former estate's high point, where the terrain opens into scenic outlooks.
