About Mount Bushnell State Park

214 acres of undeveloped land make up this park, set south of Lake Waramaug and offered for hiking without further development. The land base grew from an initial state purchase of 70 acres in 1916, which started the park's formation. It remains under the management of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
