The Cape Florida Light standing here is the oldest surviving structure in the Greater Miami area, marking the southern tip of Key Biscayne where the park now sits. The grounds cover roughly the southern third of the island, with a beach that ranked 8th best in the country in 2005 and 7th in a 2013 Forbes ranking.
