About Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park
Osceola National Forest surrounds the grounds where Florida's largest Civil War engagement took place, the Battle of Olustee. The park preserves that battlefield within the forest and lies along U.S. 90, west of Jacksonville and east of Lake City. It was among the earliest additions to the Florida State Park system, established to mark the site of the fighting.
