About Elijah Clark State Park
447 acres of shoreline along Lake Strom Thurmond make up this park, land tied to the frontiersman Elijah Clarke, who led Georgia pioneers during the American Revolution. A reconstructed log cabin here holds furniture and tools dating to 1780, showing colonial life, and the grounds contain the graves of Clarke and his wife, Hannah. The lakeside setting draws anglers.
