About Nā Pali Coast State Park
Protecting Kalalau Valley was the reason this 6,175-acre park was established, set along the rugged northwest shoreline of Kauaʻi, the second-oldest inhabited Hawaiian island. The coastal cliffs, known as nā pali, rise as much as 4,000 feet above the Pacific along this 16-mile stretch. The shoreline itself runs southwest from Keʻe Beach to Polihale State Park.
