About 160,000 visitors come each year to see exposed fossil beds of Jeffersonville Limestone dating to the Devonian period, the central feature of this park along the Ohio River. The site sits within the Falls of the Ohio National Wildlife Conservation Area, across the water from Louisville, Kentucky. The park protects this limestone formation and the fossils embedded in it, drawing people to walk among the exposed rock along the riverbank.
