About Ferry Beach State Park

A pocket swamp inland from the sandy shoreline holds tupelo trees growing at the northern edge of their natural range, a feature that led to the area's protection. The 117-acre property sits on Saco Bay north of where the Saco River meets the ocean, combining an Atlantic beach with inland hiking trails and a nature center. It is managed by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.
