About Gambrill State Park

Catoctin Mountain rises through this park, its stone overlooks offering wide views of the surrounding land. Those overlooks were built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, giving the lookout points a Depression-era construction history. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources operates the site, which sits near the city of Frederick.
