About J. A. Skinner State Park

The land here surrounds Mount Holyoke, the range's westernmost summit, straddling Hadley and South Hadley along the Connecticut River Valley. At the top stands Prospect House, a hotel that opened in 1851 and still occupies the peak today. The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation manages the grounds, which extend across both towns rather than sitting in a single one.
