About Wells State Park

Walker Pond frontage sits alongside the metamorphic rock cliff face of Carpenter Rocks, giving the park a rugged mix of ledges and wetlands. Woodlands here are oak-hickory and northern hardwood forest, with groves of eastern white pine scattered through the terrain. The area is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and sits off Route 49.
