About Moore State Park

Old mill foundations and industrial remnants scattered through the grounds trace back to milling operations that once ran here, work recognized in 2004 when a portion of the property entered the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. A rebuilt sawmill still stands near Eames Pond, where water drops through chutes and small falls that once powered the works. The 737-acre grounds are also planted with azaleas, rhododendrons, and mountain laurel, and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation oversees the property today.
