About Baraga State Park

Bishop Frederic Baraga gave his name to the park, the village, and the county alike, and the park sits along the shore he once served. Covering 56 acres on Keweenaw Bay, part of Lake Superior, the grounds run along Route 41 on the south side of Baraga village. It is a small stretch of shoreline set aside within a place that carries one man's name three times over.
