About Hayes State Park
Land in the Irish Hills was set aside to give the public access to Wamplers Lake, a 796-acre lake the park sits on the southeast corner of. The 654-acre park completely surrounds the smaller, 100-acre Round Lake, which connects to Wamplers Lake by a channel that smaller boats can navigate. Nearby are Evans Lake and Sand Lake along with chains of smaller lakes. Michigan Route 124 runs through the park just north of where it meets US Highway 12.
