About Rock Island Trail State Park

47 miles of former Rock Island rail corridor make up this trail, converted for hiking and biking use. It connects to the Katy Trail State Park, giving Kansas City area residents a direct link to that 240-mile route, the longest rails-to-trails path in the country. Construction on the corridor wrapped up with its opening in December 2016.
