About Arrow Rock State Historic Site
A key stop along the Santa Fe Trail, the bluffs above the Missouri River here formed part of a route that shaped westward travel through the region. The site preserves a portion of the village of Arrow Rock as an open-air museum, and it falls within the Arrow Rock Historic District, a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can walk through the historic village itself, set against the river bluffs that gave the crossing its name.
