About Long Pond Ironworks State Park

Stone walls, furnace remains and other structures survive from an ironworking settlement that once operated alongside the Wanaque River, and the park now preserves that industrial site across 145 acres. The river still runs swiftly past the old works, giving visitors a direct look at the remnants of the community that built them. The New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry manages the grounds in Hewitt, part of West Milford.
