About Shawnee State Park

1,095 acres of public recreation land sit within the much larger 63,000-acre Shawnee State Forest, giving the park a wooded, hilly backdrop in the Appalachian foothills. It lies along State Route 125 near the Ohio River, just north of Friendship in Southern Ohio. The surrounding forest is the dominant feature here, with the park itself forming a smaller developed area inside it.
