About Vinzenz Lausmann Memorial State Natural Area

A stretch of abandoned highway from the old Historic Columbia River Highway borders this natural area, giving hikers a path toward views over the Columbia River Gorge near Mitchell Point. Oregon Parks and Recreation Department manages the site as one of three adjoining natural areas in the area, alongside Seneca Fouts Memorial and Wygant State Natural Areas. Together these lands provide gorge overlooks reached on foot rather than by car.
