About Wygant State Natural Area
The Columbia River Gorge frames this natural area, which sits beside an abandoned stretch of the Historic Columbia River Highway near Mitchell Point. The land is one of three adjoining state natural areas in the vicinity, alongside Seneca Fouts Memorial and Vinzenz Lausmann Memorial, together offering hiking routes with views over the gorge. The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department administers the site.
