About Allegheny Islands State Park

Fifty acres make up this park, all of it spread across three alluvial islands sitting in the middle of the Allegheny River. The land remains undeveloped, with no built features beyond what nature has deposited over time. A Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge and a Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad Branch bridge both cross the river at the middle island, passing directly over park land.
