A stretch of barrier island beach along the Atlantic forms the core of this park, part of a longer sandy strip running between Weekapaug and Watch Hill that keeps Winnapaug Pond separated from the ocean. Within that shoreline, the state-managed section spans 51 acres and runs 2 miles along the coast. The main swimming area includes a large building housing public facilities and a snack bar.
