Ninety-one acres on Point Judith hold a public campground built on part of the former Fort Nathaniel Greene, named for the Rhode Island general who served in the Revolutionary War. The grounds sit within the town of Narragansett, occupying land that once served a military purpose before its designation as parkland in 1953.
