About Snake Den State Park

A working farm called Dame Farm sits within the grounds, and the former 22-room Palazzi family farmhouse on the property now serves as headquarters for the Rhode Island Division of Parks and Recreation. The surrounding 1,000 acres along U.S. Route 6 remain largely undeveloped, with limited recreational opportunities. The park's name comes from a canyon-like fissure found within its boundaries.
