About Colleton State Park
Recreational access to the Edisto River for paddling and fishing has long been the main draw at this 35-acre tract, the smallest state park in South Carolina. Campsites for RVs and tents sit alongside some team-sport recreation facilities on the grounds. For years an adjacent coal-fired power plant kept visitor numbers low, but that plant closed at the end of 2012, and local officials have discussed acquiring the site to expand the park.
