Sandhills terrain along the western edge of Lake Marion, a reservoir spanning roughly 110,000 acres, forms the base of this park. The land sits off SC 6, a few miles from the town of Santee and I-95, placing visitors directly on the lake's shoreline. This setting makes the park a point of access to one of the larger lakes in the state.
