About Quechee State Park

1952 marks the year the Dewey wool mill on this land closed before relocating to Enfield, New Hampshire, after which the US Army Corps of Engineers took over the property as part of a regional flood control plan. The Corps still owns the land, which the state leases to run the park. It contains the Quechee Gorge, a well-known stop for visitors, with a hydroelectric dam at the gorge's north end.
