About Cape Disappointment State Park
Two lighthouses stand on the headlands where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean, marking the grounds of a former military post called Fort Canby. The park spans 2,023 acres of old-growth forest, freshwater lakes, marshes, and oceanside tidelands. A Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is also on site, and the park is one of several Washington and Oregon locations included within Lewis and Clark National Historical Park.
