About Fort Columbia State Park
Twelve wood-frame buildings from the former military fort still stand across the park's 618 acres on Chinook Point, at the mouth of the Columbia River. The grounds preserve the fort's historic structures alongside an interpretive center and hiking trails, and the property sits above a tunneled stretch of U.S. Route 101. It occupies land once used for coastal defense at the river's entrance.
