About Forks of the Sky State Park

A rock climbing and BASE jumping wall known as the Index Town Wall anchors much of this 1,300-acre park, with roughly 500 documented climbing routes on its 1,200-foot face. The state acquired the wall in 2010, adding it to land already set along the Skykomish River. At the base sits a blocked tunnel left from a test of a boring machine originally built for digging under the English Channel, and the park also offers access into the Wild Sky Wilderness. It is managed by staff based at Wallace Falls State Park to the west.
