About Chief Logan State Park
Nearly 4,000 acres of West Virginia woodland make up this park, named for Chief Logan, a Mingo leader who lived in the region before the American Revolutionary War. The park, the town of Logan and the county all carry his name. Each summer the Liz Spurlock Amphitheater here stages outdoor dramas, including "The Aracoma Story," about Shawnee tribal members who once lived at the site of present-day Logan, alongside two or three other productions.
