About Aztalan State Park

172 acres along the Crawfish River make up this park, land holding the remains of a prehistoric settlement built by a Native American culture. The site was named a National Historic Landmark in 1964 and entered onto the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. Visitors can see the grounds where this ancient community once stood along the river.
