About Salt Point State Park

Rocky coastline stretches for more than six miles here, with Salt Point itself jutting out into the Pacific and waves continuously reshaping the sandstone formations along the shore. The park spans 6,000 acres and includes 20 miles of hiking trails, plus one of the first underwater preserves established in California, where the submerged rock formations support varied marine habitats. Fishing and scuba diving are among the activities available. Fog and cold wind are common even in summer months.
