About Chatfield Hollow State Park

412 acres of land border Cockaponset State Forest, holding trails for hiking and mountain biking, spots for rock climbing, and a swimming beach with trout fishing. Schreeder Pond covers 6.67 acres within the grounds, and visitors can find Indian caves, a restored water wheel, and a reproduction covered bridge among the historic sites. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection manages the property.
