About Haddam Meadows State Park

The Connecticut River borders this 175 acre park along its west bank, giving access to a mix of marsh, beach, sand bar, fern growth, meadow, and hardwood forest. Trails lead through these riverside landscapes, and visitors can picnic, fish, or launch a boat here. The land came to the state through a 1944 donation from the Edward W. Hazen Foundation, and it remains under the care of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
