About Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum

Sandstone slabs embedded with fossil trackways cover part of this 80 acre preserve, marking one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America. The tracks date to the start of the Jurassic period, roughly 200 million years ago, and the grounds were set aside specifically to protect them. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection manages the property.
