About George Dudley Seymour State Park

The east bank of the Connecticut River forms the setting here, with Hurd State Park bordering the property to the north. Spanning 222 acres in the town of Haddam, the land was acquired through the philanthropy of George Dudley Seymour, a benefactor whose donations helped Connecticut establish several of its state parks. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection oversees the property today.
