About Wharton Brook State Park

As one of the state's earliest protected recreation areas, this 96-acre tract was set aside for public use along U.S. Route 5, straddling North Haven and Wallingford. Its main feature is Allen Brook Pond, a 5-acre pond that drains into Wharton Brook, giving the park its name. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection manages the grounds today.
