About West Rock Ridge State Park

Cliffs of trap rock rise 400 to 700 feet along a ridge that stretches across New Haven, Hamden, and Woodbridge, offering west-facing views over the city and surrounding towns. The land protects a stretch of the Metacomet Ridge and includes Judges Cave, a colonial-era hiding spot, along with Lake Wintergreen. The Regicides Trail runs 7 miles through the park as part of the Blue Trail network, and the open cliff line extends for a similar distance.
