About Brandywine Creek State Park

Tulip Tree Woods and Freshwater Marsh, the first two nature preserves designated in Delaware, sit within this 951-acre property along Brandywine Creek. The land was once part of a Du Pont family estate and dairy farm before the state acquired it in 1965. A satellite tract called Flint Woods serves as the park's third preserve, holding old-growth forest and rare songbird species.
